The literal meaning of “Yumcha” is to “drink tea” in the Cantonese dialect. It is commonly used by Malaysians to invite friends and family to meet up and hang out with each other over a cup of coffee or tea. “得閒飲茶” is pronounced in Cantonese as “Dak Haan Yum Cha”, meaning “Let’s meet up during your free time”. 得閒飲茶 is inspired by the Hong Kong Cha Chaan Teng, where Oriental and Western designs and details intertwine with each other.
